Confession time: I’m *really* looking forward to Christmas this year. It’s like a beacon of light at the end of a tunnel of super depressing news and politics that has been swirling around for what feels like a verrrrry long time. I’m not about to whip a tree up just yet but I’m definitely allowing myself to slowly get into the spirit.
One of the best things about the clocks going back a few weeks ago, is that it's dark when I get home, and so I’m perfectly justified in lighting candles all over the place and fully embracing all things cosy, not that I need an excuse for that, but you know...
I’m loving this Christmas Calendar Candle. It smells of cinnamon and has a little chart on the front for you to cross off each day of December until Christmas. A lovely tradition to enjoy with little ones or not so little ones. Made from soy wax, these flew off our shelves last year, so make sure to avoid disappointment by getting yours early.
In our home, we love an Advent Calendar, however, I’m not a massive fan of all the tat that often comes with an Advent Calendar. This is why I really like this one from Ferm Living. It has four pockets, room for a small gift of your own choosing for each Sunday of Advent. My son is a budding baker so I’m planning four baking related gifts for him. And the best bit is you can just roll it up and store until next year. Another family tradition to embrace.
In the meantime, we have a steady stream of deliveries arriving at Maven, both new furniture and smaller pieces that would make perfect gifts. Oh, and look out for our weekly Maven Christmas Gift Edit coming to an inbox near you soon.
Love, Patricia x
