How To Choose A Sofa

A sofa is one of the most important pieces of furniture you will buy for your home, so you'll want to make sure you get it right. We've put together a few things to consider, to ensure you make the best decision.

MEASURE
Measure the space where you want your sofa to go. If you are nervous about what size will work in your space, measure it out with masking tape on the floor or bits of newspaper. Also, check your access. If there are narrow doorways, hallways or stairs to navigate, then take these into consideration. If this is potentially an issue, consider a sofa that has removable legs or a modular one that comes in sections. Evaluate the space around the sofa too. We'd advise going as big as you can but make sure to leave enough space to circulate comfortably.

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY
On average a sofa lasts between 7 and 15 years. There is therefore no point in simply guessing how it might feel. You'll be lounging on it daily for years and years, so really consider it as an investment and make sure that you know you like how it feels.
