Lockdown: At Home - Celeste

What’s your name and what do you do?

My name is Celeste, I accidentally give everyone too much information and sling some spro* at Coffee & Cactus with Caitlin.

*coffee geek slang for ‘make coffee’

Who lives in your home?

I live with my boyfriend John who is an artist. It’s nice to have my very own ‘artist in residence’. He’s constantly making beaut work, taking up our entire kitchen table (a little passive aggression there for you all), and putting it up around the flat. It’s like an ever changing gallery space.

How would you describe your home?

We live in a converted mill that have wonderfully  high ceilings and huge windows. Out one window we have a view of the south of the city and out our bedroom we look on to black mountain. It’s pretty glorious.

What have you enjoyed about your home during lockdown?

We’re fortunate to get a lot of natural light and sun through the big windows which is absolutely my favourite thing about the flat, except if you’re hungover. DEATH.

Is there a DIY job you’ve got round to that you’re proud of?

We had a little leak in our shower so I actually did an IGTV tutorial over on CC’s insta on the diy that we did. You'll just have to go and look there!

If you could change anything about your home, what would it be?

I would love some outdoor space. We’ve resorted  to dangling our legs out the window next to the bin.

What’s the most recent thing you’ve bought for your home?

I stocked up on smells and crates. Some PF Candle diffusers, a Maven candle and Hay crates. The plan was to organise in a delightfully smelling flat. (All available via Maven online!)

What’s been your go-to meal in the last few weeks?

This is a tough one, there have been so many good repeats.

Anna Jones Aloo Gobi

Meera Sodha root veg masala

pasta pomodoro

& Momos!

Is there anything you’ve started to do during lockdown that you’d like to continue as ‘normality’ resumes?

We started 30 day yoga with Adrienne (although it’s fallen by the wayside.. in favour of cocktails and the wire). Yoga at home would be nice to keep up.

More contact  with family and old friends has been really precious.

And having the time to find and organise local ways to buy with farm deliveries, refill quarter, and brilliant humans offering their goods.

I hope to keep all of these things up in some way with our slow return to whatever this rebooted version of life we’re heading back to.
