What’s your name and what do you do?
Esther Haller Clarke, Creative Director of Haller Clarke creative consultants.
Who lives in your home?
Me (obvs) my husband Garret and my youngest daughter Lola and Olivia when she is home from Uni in London
How would you describe your home?
Old, full of character, wonky doors and HUGE potential. We’ve just moved so we are in the exciting dreaming stage – you know , before you realise the house is actually falling down!!
What have you enjoyed about your home during the lockdown?
I have loved watching the light move through the house and how it changes each room.
Is there a DIY job you've got round to that you're proud of?
Oh well now, where to begin! In this house I’m just beginning but in our previous house I brought a heavily painted marble fireplace back to its former glory. It took forever but looked so beautiful.
If you could change anything about your home, what would it be?
The textured paint on the cornicing (who does that!) or the red rubber flooring we’ve inherited in the bathroom – so wrong.
What’s the most recent thing you’ve bought for your home?
A HUGE Ferm Living outdoor planter, so big Lola climbed into it
What’s been your go-to meal in the last few weeks?
Black pepper tofu with fresh ginger and soy, served on basmati rice and steamed greens (this is one of our family favs).
Is there anything you’ve started to do during lockdown that you’d like to continue as ‘normality’ resumes?
Yes, I’ve started to watch my plants grow and to have ‘breaktime’ with Lola like I was back at school.
