MAVEN welcomes Megan Clingman

Megan Clingman is a ceramicist and illustrator living in Belfast. Recently graduated from the University of Ulster, Megan creates functional ceramic pieces that allow for everyday objects to become her canvas. She often adorns her work with faces to bring a human element to her pieces. She wants people to feel a connection to the things that they use in their homes. 

We came across Megan’s work on instagram and fell in love with her simple, playful illustrations and forms. We arranged to meet to talk about the possibility of her doing an exclusive line for Maven. The result of those conversations is 25 limited edition pieces that Megan has created exclusively for Maven. They can be used many ways, a soap dish, somewhere to place jewellery or simply as a beautiful piece of art in their own right. Made from stoneware clay and underglaze, the pieces are cut out by hand and also hand painted.
