Last week Catherine and I went to Sweden for Stockholm Design Week. The week pivots around the Stockholm Furniture Fair and there are many design events held around the city during the week.
We had the chance to meet up with some of our existing suppliers to see their new collections and also had the opportunity to connect with some new brands that will be coming soon to Maven. We can’t say too much about those just yet but if you keep reading these ezines you’ll be the first to know!
Ferm Living entertained us at Japanese restaurant Kasai, and the gang were excited to tell us all about their first ever flagship store opening in Copenhagen in May during the 3 Days of Design festival. This will be a must visit should you be heading to Copenhagen, as Ferm Living continually inspire with their incredible styling and eye for detail.
Menu teamed up with Norm Architects and Dux for an installation called ‘The Sculptor’s Residence’ in a stunning city centre apartment. The idea was that it resembled an artist’s home and the team hosted a party there on one of the evenings and used the space for events and talks during the week. We loved seeing the pieces in the ‘real life’ setting of a dreamy Stockholm apartment and Menu’s typical calm, clean, minimal designs were right at home in such a stunning setting.
Colours that we kept seeing again and again were black, ecru, warm beiges, brown, and tan. Materials that featured strongly were marble, leather, linen, walnut and pale oak.
All in all, we’ve come back absolutely brimming with inspiration and ideas and cannot wait bring some of that magic to Maven very soon.
Love Patricia. x
